Another year is behind us. It is time to reflect on the challenges that we faced and the celebrations too. In doing so, it allows us the opportunity to look ahead and decide what changes we need to make to achieve the goals we have put in place for ourselves. You create your own success, others may guide you; but in the end it is all up to you!
“Do not be embarrassed by your failures, learn from them and start again.”
– Richard Branson
During your reflections of this past year, you may feel a little sluggish from over-indulging over the holidays. It may be time for a little detox! A little while back we did this post on the Best Foods to Help you Detox that you may find helpful.
Once you have your mind and body feeling good after a post holiday detox, one of the things that you can do to help you on the road to success in this industry is keep your training up to date. Check out this video from Carolyn sharing a bit more on that topic:
Don’t forget to keep your resume up to date with your latest training and projects! If you want to keep busy in this industry, it is important for Casting Directors to know what you have been up to. The easiest way to do this is to keep your profiles up to date in programs like 800Casting and Casting Workbook. These are the programs that the agents use to communicate with Casting Directors and clients to submit you for jobs.
When was the last time you updated your headshot in your bio? It is so important to have a great headshot that actually looks like you! If your hairstyle has changed, you’ve had braces removed or put on, or have changed your look significantly it may be time to book a photoshoot for an updated look to add to your profile. Your agent is always the best one to tell you which headshot will work best for you.
Your agent is here to guide you and offer you advice on how to succeed in this industry; but you are the one that has to put in the effort and work on your craft. You create your own success!
We wish you a happy, healthy, successful and abundant New Year!
